Someone once told us that trees are dreams with roots – and we believed this. Even as children we all had the desire to climb trees. But why? A child’s perspective of the world – naive and wonderfully unbiased – knows one thing about trees: That high above the ground, in the midst of a kingdom of branches, the feeling of freedom is truly strong.
So we asked ourselves: How could we create a vacation place for regaining energy and strength? A place that doesn’t just imitate something unnaturally but that gives us a feeling of freedom once again? We have found an answer:
WHAT TO EXPECT?
Every one of our five BAUMCHALETS in the Allgäu has been designed and equipped with lots of charm.
On the outside they are clinging to the natural landscape which has been formed by a wild creek. The houses are surrounded by a large private garden; each one gives access to the creek. With us, modern architecture meets the traditional Allgäu lifestyle – an exciting encounter! In the chalets you will find a clever, playful design with a private wellness sphere and all the important things you need when you’re high up in the trees.
JACUZZI - THE FINEST BUBBLING WATER
All five houses offer a luxurious whirlpool on the sun-flooded terrace. The whirlpool is covered by our mighty roof and sheltered from the wind. 19 strong nozzles are ready to give you a relaxing massage after an exciting day in nature. Two ergonomically formed seats and a lounge seat offer places to sit, splash around and relax.
SAUNA
Every chalet has a private Finnish sauna. It offers more than enough space for two adults or even a whole family, whatever you prefer. In the bathroom you can find a locally produced oil made out of mountain herbs and flowers, as well as a bucket and ladle. While you’re sweating inside you can observe the outside world: the branches dancing, the wind blowing and maybe even a squirrel. Once you’re done, there are two cosy bathrobes and sauna towels waiting for you.
HOVERING HAMMOCK
On the upper floor, right next to the panorama window of the southern glass front, we constructed a hovering hammock. Time for rest and a feeling of lightness – just what hovering is known for. When a big cloud gets caught high up in the branches you can almost skate away on it from where you are now.
BATHROOM
A separate bathroom with heated floors and a large rain shower is waiting for you. A window faces North and lets in some fresh air. Of course, we offer fresh, cozy towels as well as a lovely rosemary soap for hair and body, a hair dryer and hand sanitiser. Because we like to be sustainable, we have a refill system for all our products. The soap and hand sanitiser are organic.
SLEEPING ROOM AND REST IN THE CHALEST
Up high in the trees you can gain another perspective on the world. You can finally read those books you always wanted to look through or maybe just take a nap in the sunshine – our BAUMCHALETS give you the opportunity to do so. There are a number of cozy corners and comfortable resting areas you can choose from. Our furniture is, according to the tiny house movement, multifunctional. A stair podium can become a comfortable chill-out lounge, our seating benches can be turned into an extension of the snuggly sofa. And we all know: Most important for having a beautiful day is a good night’s rest. That’s why you will sleep in cozy pinewood-beds that ensure a good and healthy room atmosphere.
KITCHEN WITH ALL YOU MIGHT NEED
In our kitchen you can find all you need for a three-course menu or just a light supper. The chalets are equipped with a dish washer, an oven, a fridge with freezer, a tea and coffee bar, and a stove. There is all the crockery you might need as well as cutlery and – because we’re in the Allgäu – a grinder for making your own Kässpatzen. In the summertime you can have a nice BBQ down at your private fireplace. We always make sure that you have enough wood and coal to get your fire going. There’s enough seating around the fireplace for every occasion – whether you want to have an outside family dinner or a campfire beneath the stars with your friends.
OUTDOORS
As a guest high above the ground you can listen to the sound of wind and weather or maybe even a little neighbourly duet between squirrel and Wiesenpieper (our local protected bird). The best place for enjoying our beautiful surroundings is either the sun terrace or your private garden, right next to the creek (that serves as a perfect cooler on hot summer days, by the way). For everyone travelling with heavy luggage or those who maybe aren’t the strongest walkers anymore, we built two large parking lots in front of every BAUMCHALET. There, you can just leave your car for a few days and explore our region: In walking distance you will find a ski lift, hiking trails, farm huts that offer drinks and light meals and a beautiful natural trail through our local wetlands. Our hills and forests are also ideal for everyone who likes to (mountain) bike.
ELECTRONICS
We think that everyone has to decide for themselves how much they want to use their electronic devices during their vacation. No matter if you feel like digital detoxing or if you crave a cozy film night, The BAUMCHALETS will live up to your expectations. We have Wi-Fi to make sure everyone can surf the internet and we also offer Magenta TV, Netflix and Disney+ via a tablet in every chalet. Your electric cars as well as your E-Bikes can be charged right at your house or, if you want, you can rent one of our mountain E-Bikes.
EXTRAS
BREAKFAST SERVICE
For those who love a good breakfast we offer a daily breakfast basket that we bring to you in the morning.
It contains delicious local products and is prepared by our village bakery. We do not use any plastic to package your breakfast. In our baskets you will find fruits, veggies, sausage and cheese, butter, cream cheese, jams, juice, milk and of course different buns, bread and cake. For your kids we offer a cold chocolate milk. On Sundays our busy baker takes a well-deserved rest but you can still order breakfast for these days – the only difference is that you don’t get buns but a nice loaf of bread and a local delicacy: Hefezopf.
For children aged 6 - 16 the breakfast costs 14 euros and for people over 16 it is 23 euros.

PETS
Your beloved animals are more than welcome in our BAUMCHALETS. We charge an extra fee of 60 euros per pet for our cleaning staff.

Frequently asked questions about chalets, facilities and accommodation
How big is a tree chalet?
A tree chalet offers around 50 m² of living space spread over two levels, as well as a large terrace with a private garden area by the torrent. The architecture combines the feel of a tiny house, the experience of a treehouse and high-quality comfort.
What’s available in the kitchen?
The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can easily cater for yourselves. This includes cooking facilities, crockery, cutlery, a fridge and a tea and coffee corner.
Is there Wi-Fi and a TV?
Yes, every chalet has Wi-Fi and a tablet with a range of streaming services. That way, you can decide for yourselves where and when to enjoy what.
Are bed linen, towels and bathrobes included?
Yes, bed linen, hand towels, sauna towels and bathrobes are provided for you. For the wellness area, you should pack extra swimwear and, if necessary, your own slippers.
Are there any parking spaces?
Yes, there are two parking spaces available right outside each chalet. This makes arriving, unloading your luggage and doing your shopping particularly straightforward.
Is smoking allowed in the chalet?
No, smoking is not permitted inside the chalets. Please be considerate when smoking outdoors and dispose of cigarette ends properly.
Frequently asked questions about saunas, hot tubs and the weather
Is the spa area private?
Yes. The sauna and hot tub/Jacuzzi are part of your chalet and are not shared with other guests. You decide for yourselves when you’d like to relax.
Can I use the sauna and hot tub in winter as well?
Yes, the combination of a sauna, warm water, snow and mountain air is particularly lovely, especially in winter. Just make sure you take care when walking outside, as wooden decking can be slippery when wet or frosty.
How warm is the hot tub?
The hot tub is designed as a heated outdoor hot tub and will be prepared for your stay. The exact temperature may vary slightly depending on usage, the weather and the technical settings.
How is the water maintained?
The water is regularly checked and maintained. Please shower before using the hot tub, do not use oils, bath products or glassware in the hot tub, and follow the instructions on site.
What can you do when it’s raining?
Rain goes surprisingly well with the tree chalets: the sauna, the hot tub, cooking, reading, the hammock, playing games, streaming, and the sound of raindrops in the trees. Many guests find these days particularly cosy.
Frequently asked questions about holidays with your dog
In which chalets are dogs allowed?
Dogs are welcome in several designated chalets. One chalet remains pet-free so that guests with allergies and those without dogs can also find a suitable place to stay.
How much does a dog cost?
For dogs, there is an additional cleaning or pet charge of €60 per stay per dog.
What do I need to bear in mind when travelling with a dog?
Please always let us know in advance if you are bringing your dog, bring their favourite food with you, and do not allow dogs on beds, sofas or upholstered furniture. We provide blankets, towels, bowls and a small welcome treat. Any damage or heavy soiling will be charged separately.
Are there any good walking routes starting right from the chalet?
Yes, the location at Thaler Höhe is ideal for walks, short strolls and longer hikes in the countryside. Please be considerate of grazing animals, wildlife and other visitors.
Can my dog run free?
Your dog should be kept on a lead on the grounds and in sensitive natural areas. This protects wildlife, grazing animals, other visitors and your dog.
Frequently asked questions about families, children and safety
Are the tree chalets suitable for families with children?
Yes, the tree chalets offer families a special experience of nature. Children love the sleeping loft, the terrace, the mountain stream, the hammock and being close to the forest and mountains. However, parents should be aware that this is a place close to nature, with heights, wood, water and outdoor areas.
Is there a cot or a high chair?
Where possible, please enquire in advance about baby and toddler equipment. If available, we’ll be happy to arrange it for you.
Is the torrent dangerous?
The torrent offers a unique experience of nature, but it is not a playground and should not be used without supervision. Please supervise children near the water and watch out for slippery stones and wooden surfaces when it is wet.
What can children get up to in the local area?
Right on the doorstep of the chalets, you’ll find nature, footpaths and little adventures. The region offers walks, lakes for swimming, mountain railways, playgrounds, museums and, depending on the season, snow-based activities.
Are the chalets accessible?
Due to their design, which features different levels, stairs and an elevated position, the tree chalets are not traditionally accessible. Guests with reduced mobility should contact us directly before booking.

How sustainable are the tree chalets?
The tree chalets embody holidays close to nature, high-quality architecture, thoughtfully chosen furnishings and a resource-conscious approach to the environment.
What do I need to bear in mind regarding nature and animals?
Please stay on the paths, be considerate of wildlife, grazing animals and other visitors, and do not leave any rubbish behind. This special setting thrives on everyone treating it with care.
Is there a curfew?
Yes, out of consideration for guests, nature and the local environment, a quiet atmosphere should be maintained in the evenings. Therefore, quiet hours apply on the terrace and in the garden from 10 pm.
Am I allowed to light a fire or have a barbecue?
Barbecuing or lighting fires is only permitted at the barbecue area allocated to you. Please be aware of the risk of forest fires, the weather and the house rules.
Am I allowed to fly my drone?
You are welcome to film your booked chalet, provided you have checked with our team first. To protect the privacy of our other guests and those at the campsite, flying drones over other chalets or the campsite is not permitted.
